"The Shower" is about a moment of grace between father and son.

The father, Michael, chronically ill, has recently been admitted to a geriatric ward for tests. The atmosphere of his being surrounded by terminally ill patients and his own dread, bring him to repeatedly ask to go home. He is continuosly refused. Then he begins to ask to go home at least once for a shower.

Naomi, who has been taking care of her father in the hospital, welcomes Gabi, her brother, angrily, complaining that he doesn't participate in the caretaking of their father. Gabi, who is preoccupied with his own concerns, doesn't understand the reason for anxiety. His father's request for a shower seems a simple and easy enough resolution for the tension in the atmosphere.

Then he finds out, to his surprise, that his father has chosen him to do the bathing.

Now begin the excitement and preparations for the shower. Leah, Michael's wife, prepares a festive dinner for the homecoming of her husband.

At the same time she worries that he will refuse to return to the hospital. Nahi, the grandson, waits excitedly to see how his father will wash his grandfather. Even Naomi arrives for the showerfest.

In the shower itself there is an intimate encounter between Gaby and his father in a way and manner that has never before taken place between them.

The anxiety in the face of loneliness and death, and the helplessness of the family members and their unresolved conflicts-all disappear for a few moments of grace in the shower.
